Deltha a Bengal

Postby Flux » Fri Apr 09, 2004 10:29 am

4/9/2004 -
In one fell swoop Friday, the Bengals got a Pro Bowl cornerback, picked up a fourth-round draft pick, and still remained in prime position in the first round of the NFL Draft. Late Thursday night, Cincinnati completed a trade with Denver in which they swapped first-round picks and the Broncos gave the Bengals cornerback Deltha O’Neal and a fourth-rounder to move up from No. 24 to No. 17 in the first round.

Wow, great move by the bengals they definitely made out on this deal. I know the Broncos have lost faith in Deltha, but this was just a give-away.

Who does everyone suspect the Broncos are looking at now w/ the #17 pick?

That's about the right spot for Steven Jackson, isn't it?

Great move by the bengals :-t ...they needed someone like this (so did pitt if they had the money), but I guess Denver figures they have someone suitable to go opposite Champ. They could get jackson at that spot and it wouldnt really be a bad pick so that hearst can bring him up, and q-tip is too much of a q-tip to be an every down back. Although this woul be their 3rd RB drafted in 3 years...

It does put them in good position to take Jackson, as now they have leap-frogged both Dallas and NE. But they still have the lions in front of them, and with NE having 2 picks in the 1st rd, they very well could trade up in front of Denver.

Never thought I'd say this...

but it's a good time to be a Bengals fan.

This should help Cincy's lackluster pass defense tremendously.

Nice move by the Bengals, I don't know what the Broncos are thinking. Although Steven Jackson would be a nice choice, Wilfork is also a possibility with their weak DTs.

moving up 7 spots is nothing to turn ur nose up at... seems like a fairly even trade to me.

I dunno why people think bengals stole this deal. Last time i checked Oneal was trying out wr for the broncos. I don't blame the broncos for trading him (considering he useless at that point). Broncos moved up 7 spots in which open up alot of options for them. Seem pretty fair, considering Oneal might just need a new enviroment.

That definitely looks like a move for RBs. I think they would be happy with either Jackson or Jones and jumping NE and Dallas sure increases their chances at getting one of them.
