Who do you always pick ...

Postby Lushcrush » Sat Apr 10, 2004 7:04 pm

What player do you always pick on draft day? Not a Moss or Priest ... more of a good luck charm. This is the guy you know will be available in the middle rounds and you look forward to having cause he makes you feel good. And it doesn't matter what the ranking say ... you're gonna take him no matter what.
I'll lead off and say ... in the past I had this thing about Bernie Parmalee - not much value but I was always in the playoff race and Bernie had a little value as Marino's 3rd down back. I migrated to Germain Crowell of Detroit, and for the past few years I seem to live and die with Aaron Brooks on a regular basis. The guy kills me when I need him but seems like I always come back for more.

Well, it's not intentional or sentimental, but somehow I seem to always end up with Marty Booker.

I see where this could happen. I have played fantasy three years in a row, but I don't think I've ever tried to pick a random low guy (mainly due to not participating in a live draft). If you could count Jimmy Smith as a middle guy that I'd love to have every year, he'd be my guy...until he gets really old.

I seem to be the last guy willing to give up on Rod Smith (gee, wonder why?). I always grab him too early, I suppose, but he just seems to make my roster look better. :)

I know this isnt a middle rounds guy, but i always go for Peyton Manning. Probably to early, but i feel like hes the only guy in the league who will put up the numbers that satisfy me every single week. Im saying this in response to you "feel good" description, if i ever have a big fantasy game, i just look at him and think, he'll win this game for me.

One way or another, I've had K-Rob on my team all 3 years.

I always pick Ahman Green first. He has more experience than any other back in the league, not because of his age but because of he went to Nebraska. Any back that carries the ball that many times knows how to run around or over people.

Randy McMichael, Plax, and Jamal Lewis all seemed to appear on my teams last year.
