What has Rudi really done to show that he can be THE MAN ?? Now Cincy has no recourse but to rely on Rudi. I think this was a terrible move on Cincy's part even if Dillon has some off the field issues. The Pats are now definitely a two headed monster offensively and defensively. The rest of the AFC have a lot to look up to unfortunately.

Here's the thing. The Bengals wanted to get rid of a player who was not a 'team player.' They did so. They were trying to trade him to the Raiders, but they were only offering a pick in the 4th or 5th round or something. If that trade would have gone through, which was rumored for however long, nobody would have been saying this was a bad deal for the Bengals. How in the heck can a team be criticized for getting a 2nd rd pick for a player who causes problems in the organization? Yes its to another AFC team, but it was also to a team willing to give up the most for him. The difference between a 2nd rd pick and possibly a 4th or 5th rd pick is a lot. Especially with the talent still to be had in round 2.
The Bengals seriously are getting NO RESPECT. This was a great trade for them. The honest truth is that they won't be in the Super Bowl this year, and most likely next year. They are still rebuilding, hell, they havent had a winning season in what seems like forever. They went from the laughing stock of the league to an 8-8 team, and this move only makes them better. So in a couple years when they are a threat, it will be when Dillons contract is up, and he most likely wont be in NE then. As a team in the NFL, you have to do whats best for your team, even if it makes a strong team even stronger.
Continuing on with this respect thing. When the bengals offered Sapp a contract that was higher than most thought he was worth, they were criticized. But then the Raiders go and offer him an even BIGGER contract and land him. They were called geniuses. These double standards make me sick as a Bengals fan, especially since the bengals have had one of the best offseasons in the league.
As for Rudi, he had a great year, could he be a flash in the pan? Maybe, but the team, the players and the fans believe in him. Cinci is most likely going to draft a RB as well to be Rudi's backup. It may happen in the 1st rd, but probably the 2nd, so either way he will be a very good player.
