so Archie doesn't want his BABY to be in SD? TOO warm for him there?? Like too cold for Elway in Buffalo? Such BS when players or their agents/parents try and manipulate the draft process. I hope SD drafts him and the wuss has to sit out a year. :-t

i heard about this on my ride into work today. stupid. that's all it is. manning has two choices. 1) he can play for the team that drafts him or 2) he can take his ball and go home. if he really wants to be in the league, then he'll do whatever he needs to do.

on a related note, i also heard that SD will either take Manning or trade down. as of now, taking Gallery is a smokescreen.

AM radio...but we get ESPN Radio very clearly...especially when i take the kid with the largest head gear and stick his head out the window while the kid with the pituitary gland problem sits on his foot to anchor him.

oh...and we were upgraded to an 8 track player too...wooooo!!!! ;-)

Can you really blame his father for doing this? Archie Manning spent his career on a pathetic team as I understand, and it makes sense that he doesn't want his sons to be locked up as franchise players for perennial losers. He wants them to have a shot at a Superbowl ring, and as much as NYG is looking like the bottom rung of the NFC East at this point, they at least have more than 1 good player on their team.

Actually, I think this makes things relatively simple for the Chargers. It doesn't make sense to take a franchise QB who doesn't want to play for you, and if NYG plays hardball in trade negotiations for the #1 pick, the Chargers can always take Gallery with a good reason why they didn't draft a guy who will boost ticket sales. Let's face it, most casual fans won't understand why a team would draft Gallery so high, but every team knows he's one of the best, if not the best overall player in the draft.
