Hello all,
the coaches in my league have been discussing the draft order for
next season and the consensus seems to be that the championship
owner automatically drafts last and the runner-up 2nd-to-last. Is
that normal practice?
With my group of friends, we play two leagues. One a keeper and the other is a non-keeper. In the keeper league, we draft in the order that you're talking about. The Champion drafts last. Last place drafts first. In the non-keeper league, we pull numbers from a hat to determine the draft order.
A couple of us are trying to push this idea in my 1 private league,I think it's fair & allows the less fortunate to have something to look forward to over the off-season.
I do like a serpentine draft style also in some cases.
My thinking is since it is not a keeper league we should have a lottery
for draft order. I was ninth out of ten teams this season and would like
a chance at a higher spot especially since it'll probably be a twelve team
league next season.
I prefer the snake or serpent draftstyle. I find it is the fairest thing possible. I drew ninth pick out of 10 this season and I was actually pretty happy because I knew I was going to be able to snag a stud back in round one and TO in round 2.
