Just saw this on the news myself. I was extremely impressed by this young mans decision to leave football because as he said "It didnt seem right that there was a war and I wasnt going to do my part"

Im shocked and saddened by his death , a true hero has been lost. :,-(

My prayers go to his Family and Friends. He was a great man and gave his life for what he believed in. We are all going to die someday, but to die for something you believe.... well words can't describe how I feel. I served in the Marines in the Gulf War and my old unit 1/23 is in Iraq. I know we don't need to get into a political discussion. I will just say that I am sadden by this news and may God bless him in heaven.

I have to say Tillman is such an inspiration. Turning down millions of dollars to do something that is actually meaningful and fight for our country and all of us. He ended up giving his life, and will be remembered forever for his courage and unselfishness.

This terrible event really puts in perspective this upcoming draft and how meaningless it really is compared to the events happening with our country.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all the other brave soldiers who have died for our country and the ones continuing to fight for our freedom.

Exactly. We need more Tillmans and less Owens in this world. What a class act.

Man, this is a big loss for the NFL and for the sporting community. Sportscenter will certainly make this a focus tonight. It will probably also create more ire from the everyday public for the servicemen still in the Middle East area.
