IF San Diego was possibly thinking intelligently, which they MAY have been, here is a scenario for you...

San Diego takes Manning as a power play JUST TO INSURE the HIGHEST possible value for him. The stuff with Archie the last couple of days has all been misdirection and a play for leverage.

NOW the Chargers can ask EVEN MORE for him due to the fact that he said he would sit out tather than play in San Diego this season. That makes for one of the largest gambles for the Chargers I've ever seen by an NFL team and I bet it pays off!

San Diego get's their man in Rivers AND possible WR Ike Hilliard?
