How do you guys think steven jackson will impact faulks fantasy numbers....will jackson take the goal lines....will it be a running back by committe, or will jackson just take a back seat with gordon while faulk runs the show. where do you rate faulk in your top 15 runningbacks?

My thoughts also. STL doesnt really like Gordon all that much, and wanted to find a quality backup and Faulks future replacement. They did that with possibly the best RB in the draft.

IMO this pick tells me 3 things....

1st: Faulk is not a healthy as they would have us believe...

2nd: Gorden is not the replacement, he is mearly a backup, who will drop to 3rd string...

3rd: Jackson will steal carries and a goalline td here and there...

You don't draft a RB that is healthy and ready to play in the 1st rd to make him a 3rd stringer, this isn't Mcgahee, this back is ready to play now...

No matter how you look at this, it IS bad news for Faulk...the end is closer then we all thought for him...

I'd read that St. Louis was impressed by Stephen Jackson and Maurice Clarett during their training, but I figured there was no way they went with Jackson in the first if he fell to them with the other needs they have.

Nice future pickup, though - ala Larry Johnson in Kansas City. The Rams can probably afford to take a luxury pick in the draft (not like Buffalo with Willis McGahee).

Through the offseason there had been rumors of the Rams trying to ship off Lamar Gordon to the Patriots, so I don't know how high the Rams are of him. Either way, the Rams have a nice stable of RBs to prepare them for any injuries that can (and probably will, given Marshall's recent history) come up during the season.

Personally i wouldnt take faulk anyway this year, he is getting old and he has been hurt numerous times. These are sure signs of a running back on the way down

He's definitely not the Faulk of old, but at the position he's going in most mock drafts, you can't pass up on him. In a lot of the mocks I've seen, he's a #2 RB.

He might miss a few games, but when he's playing, he puts up some studdish numbers. In redraft leagues, I think I have as the #11 ranked RB. In keeper leagues, he drops maybe a two spots, IMO...

I dont necessarily agree. it always makes you wonder, but what about LJohnson? We didnt know how bad Holmes was going to be hurt, but perhaps neither did KC. We don't know for real Faulk's status, but perhaps neither does StL.

Not good for Jackson, but I dont think it will hurt Faulk in the near future unless he shows age or injury. In the future, I see Jackson taking over, though.
