Winner and Losers on 1st draft day

Postby GreenBay4Life » Sat Apr 24, 2004 9:09 pm

Hey guys just wondering who did you think were the big winners and big losers on the 1st day of the draft? Here is my top 3 for each
Winners!
1. San Diego-they are winners for basically robbing the giants
2. arizona-grabbed the best wr and 2 great dfensive players
3. san fran-dropped to the bottom and still landed a nice wr to replace owens along with a solid cb
others: raiders,detroit,jets
Losers
1. Rams- what the hell were they thinking umm lets draft the best rb and bench him for a couple of years
2.Buffalo- they could be #1 depending on who you ask but who the hell pays the same price as the giants did to get manning
3.packers-drafted 1st rd cb and he was graded as a late 3rd round cb also dealt out of the 2nd rd to draft a 1aa player in the 3rd who was unchallenged.
others:jaguars, dallas

Detroit is the #1 winner and if Julius Jones doesn't get all the carries for them, then Dallas is in the top 3 losers.

Still can't believe Steelers got Roethlisberger with 11th pick. I'm very happy. They also got a good OT in round 3.

I agree with both comments. And eventhough the CB the steelers took isnt well known, hes pretty good. We have done well, as usual :-)

If you ask me who has had the best offseasons, I'd say Washington, philadelphia, and New England

Don't forget Indy as a big time loser- unnecessary TE and Safety, and a huge reach at LB

Yeah, I'll go with that one. I was impressed they got both.

I gotta agree with the majority and say Detroit. I also think the Bengals and Cardinals did well.

I think KC did pretty bad, drafting a unnecessary TE when they could have had CB Derrick Strait or K Kaeding.....The other two picks I can deal with, but drafting Kris WIlson was maybe the stupidest 2nd-3rd round pick.

I think Indy and KC both looked pretty bad for the same reasons...drafting at positions where theyw ere strong, namelt TE.

Detriot and New England. Wilfork was a great pick. I'm still scratching my head on why the Broncs passed on him
