I was listening to the draft on the radio at work yesterday. I normaly watch it on TV, but time and a half was too much to pass up. Anyway, when the Giants picked Rivers, the announcer on the radio (Clayton I think) said he was the next Bernie Kosar. WOW, a franchise QB and he is compared to Kosar. Thats not high marks IMO. What ever happen to being compared to Elway, Montana or Marino. If he IS the next Bernie Kosar then I don't hold much hope for Charger fans.
Did they mention this on the TV?

I don't remember them mentioning this, but I have read that Rivers is ready to go right now and could make an immediate impact, but in the future Big Ben has the better upside. And Big Ben was compared the Elway on TV.

I've watched Rivers A LOT in college... I saw him whip up on FSU, at home, two years running... The last NC State player that I thought was that scary was Torry Holt... The only knock on Rivers is that he has a sidearm delivery... Very unconventional... But I really do think this guy could be the next Dan Marino.. He's got the smarts, and he'll read a defense and deliver that rock quicker than you can blink...

(On a side note: Look out for T.A. McLenndon (sp?) in the next couple of years... That kid has got what it takes to get it done at RB...)

You would, you... Well, nevermind....

As much as I hate to say it, I think Frank Gore has a LOT of promise...

And McLenndon did suffer some injuries last year, but he's still young... I believe he was a true freshman starter 2 years back, and if he progresses the way he's expected to, keep an eye on him....

I dont understand how you can rag on McLendon for injury problems and then mention Frank Gore. The guy is amazing and I really like im but his injury problems are waaaay wrose than McLendon's. Back to the original topic I think Big Ben will be the best QB from this draft. Rivers will have a Rich Gannon-like career with his Rich Gannon-like arm. Way to high at #4 I think.

I was just asking who he was. I don't keep up with nc state. I know gore get inj alot, but he the best pure talent back.

I would take Gore over McLendon probably but I was just stating that his injury problems are worse. McLendon will probably be a top 3 or 4 back next year along with Cadillac, Cedric Benson, and Ronnie Brown.
