The News
It's clear that whatever Eli Manning wants, Eli Manning gets. After being traded from the Chargers to the Giants on draft day, Manning quickly worked out a deal with punter Jeff Feagles to get the #10 jersey. Feagles agreed to give up number for the price of an all expenses paid trip for his family to Florida. According to the Bergen Record, Feagles will now wear #17 in honor of it being his 17th season in the NFL.

Our View
Whew! We're glad that got worked out early. We'd hate for the rookie quarterback to have to wear some number that the Giants coaching staff assigned to him.

tell me Eli wasn't a classic lil pain in the ass as a kid..."are we there yet" ...."I want it... Iwant it .....I want it!!!!!" damn man!...to be honest I'd give him the shirt off my back for a ll expense paid trip for my family to Florida!...anyone got Elis #?..I got a old #81 jersey that needs to go!

Well, this isn't really anything out of the ordinary. When joining a new team players pay each other to get their number pretty often. At least this didn't work out like the Portis/Ohalete thing...Eli Manning and a punter in a boxing ring.....that's a tough one to call.

Oh, man, didn't even see that coming... besides, Emmitt's headed for the Ring of Honor anyway. Does anyone wear 88 these days?

Feagles r0x0rz s0x0rz. I wish the Seahawks had kept him...

...And Julius Jones won't be wearing #22 as long as he's a Cowboy.

I'd rather see Manning refuse to play because he couldn't wear his number. ;-D

I wish Feagles would have stayed with Philly...I loved Tecmo Bowl when I got to say "Feagles for the Eagles." It had a nice ring to it. It's like how Miroslav Satan should be on the New Jersey Devils, or Martin St. Louis should be on the St. Louis Blues, or how Jeremy Shockey should be on the Chargers...

Eli and TO might end up on the new team called the Providence Town Criers! :~(
