The point is they needed a third back and he does special teams work. Plenty of guys out there that fit that description but why not pick up a former Hurricane or the son of a legend. Oh how convenient, they got both and it didn't even cost a draft pick.

Personally, i think he has a lot of potential. he only started playing football towards the end of high school. with some more experience he might turn into something. he's a great athlete, and like me, soccer was his first love.

Yeah he was a practice squad guy that eventually made the team. Worked out okay for him.

It's all about karma. He'll prolly end up as a project euro-player.

Speaking of..anyone see Chad Hutchinson struggling over there? My god how bad is Quincy Carter to be pushed by this guy?

Do you have a vendetta against this guy or something? He wasn't pushed by Chad. There were no calls by Cowboys fans to put Hutchinson in. Parcells & Jones stuck by him all last season and have after the season.

I don't think Quincy Carter was pushed by Chad. Once training camp was over, Parcells stuck to 1 QB. That being said, given Carter's 17:21 TD:INT (I'll be nice and not include fumbles), I'd have been inclined to let Chad take the field. People complain about how bad Drew Brees is. But Brees at least kept his TD:INT ratio above 1:1, and Brees also passed significant higher percentage of completions than Carter last time he started a full season.

I can't remember which coach said it years ago when overlooking a player's college stats but it was "you can't measure heart" - if he has his dad's heart, he'll make it, even if he doesn't have his dad's talent.

Didn't Gene Hackman's character say that in "the Replacements"?

Dunno - never saw that movie - but I know some well known NFL coach said that but I just can't remember who.
