Why was Eli taken first?

Choose why you think Eli was taken first. When I ask this, disregard the fact that the Chargers probably took him because they knew they could trade him for Rivers and some other picks. The Chargers would have kept him if he hadn't thrown a hissy fit. Most teams had him ranked as the highest QB. I'm asking what do you think was the deciding factor?

I'd say most scouts had him about equal with either Rivers or Roethlesberger. His family Pedigree pushed him over the top.

Id's have to agree with KG.

That definately influenced their decision. I think some scout may have him a little higher talent-wise, but that being influenced by his last name. I would have to go with a combination of choice 1 and 2

Just like good toilet paper, it's all in the brand name. You wouldn't want to wipe with a cheapo one-ply sandpaper roll, you want the squeezably soft Charmin!!!
