Fanball wrote:Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio has more in mind for rookie running back Greg Jones than simply having him be Fred Taylor's backup. Del Rio told the Florida Times-Union that he plans to use Jones in a similar fashion to the way the Buccaneers utilize fullback Mike Alstott. "Considering [Alstott] always goes to the Pro Bowl, that sounds good to me," Jones said.

The Buccaneers use Alstott to carry the ball on short-yardage and goal-line situations, as well as a blocking fullback and a receiver out of the backfield. If, as suggested, the 250-pound rookie takes over the goal-line touches, it both gives Jones good value and decreases Taylor's worth. Fantasy owners will recall the 2002 season when Jaguars backup runner Stacey Mack notched nine scores as the goal line back. Taylor still managed eight touchdowns, but Stacey's role clearly kept Fred from reaching an elite level.
Taylor just can't seem to catch a break.
