Well, Im gonna disagree with all of you....Knowing a lil bit bout the game myself, I'd say that Toomer, Shockey and yes even Tiki are still a FF value....The Giants offensive line should be improved from last year and this team has done well in the offseason signing good veteran players...and mind you this...the Giants were plagued with injuries on both sides of the line last year...they will still be a top defensive team with everyone healthy....But, back to what I was sayin....The Giants will be playing a lot of "catch-up" football this year, meaning they will need to pass a lot...that means numbers for Shockey, Toomer and Hilliard and if Eli is the man to start the season that will mean plenty of receptions for Tiki....So, I'd have to say that these key players will be just fine and will actually post better numbers than they did last year.
Shockey is the most overrated player in fantasy football. He has 4 TDs in 2 seasons, and now he has a rookie quarteback. Hell get 600 yds and 2-3 TDs. 4 at the most. Id rather have heap than shockey, and I would try and avoid "butterfingers" Tiki Barber and Amani "Malignant" Toomer. Oh btw, warner wont help their production. The guy is finished.

and how will they do this with a patchwork line suzie? didn't the giants give up the most sacks last season? then they go out and sign two ex-browns, who i admit had a terrible line last season!! good job accorsi!! way to bring in the IR players to fill holes!! if eli does start, the most time he'll have to get off passes will be to either his TE or RB. Shockey may see more time, but i don't think it'll be enough to account for anything. and we all know tiki can't hold a ball in his hands longer than 2 seconds before he stumbles over his own feet and drops the ball two yards behind him. sorry...but i just don't see how this team can be that competitive next year.

I'm not sure why this would make you want Heap over Shockey...Your projected LOW-END numbers for Shockey are the same as Heap's ACTUAL numbers from last year. IE--Shockey's worst case scenario is the same as Heap's expected one. Heap had his numbers inflated in 2002 by Jeff Blake, who as someone on this site mentioned before, always keys in on one guy and inflates their numbers. First it was Pickens, then Heap, then Boldin. Heap goes back to having Boller throwing him the ball, who even with a year of experience under his belt, is still probably worse than Manning. Plus, we already know that Boller doesn't force the ball to Heap, maybe Manning will force it to Shockey.
Bottom line, Shockey has way more upside, and even if his upside doesn't come to fruition, his 'worst case' numbers are pretty much the same as Heap's 'expected' numbers...
Awwww my buddy Slow....Like I said, the Giants' offensive line was devastated last year due to injuries...Most of their secondary was hurt as well....Having a good defense helps the offense...and everyone should be healthy this year....
Why is it that you have to always repeat everything to a Browns fan?

Should we downgrade Shockey and Barber (even more) if this offense seems like it is going to be that bad. I think more importantly, does Shockey fall out of the top 2 for TE? Is Heap now No. 2?
I'm downgrading the entire Giants' offense on account of Eli.
Amani Toomer isn't even a lower tier #1 WR for me now, rather a lower tier #2 WR and better suited for a #3 WR.
I've had Jeremy Shockey ranked third or fourth all year (behind Tony G. and Sharpe) - my indecisiveness as to a concrete #3 or #4 ranking depends on my mood, I 'spose.
As for Tiki Barber, I've been reading a lot of stuff about the re-emergence of Ron Dayne and how Coughlin is really liking what he's been doing. I've downgraded him to a solid #3 RB at this point.

Way to jump all over that for me Bagel. You saved me the effort of having to type that exact thing. 600 yards and 3 TDs for a TE is hardly bad. I expect Shockey to exceed those numbers as he becomes Eli's best friend. Shockey and Barber will be the only things Eli sees besides defensive linemen this year. He'll see some tackling dummies too...
I do think that Toomer's value is dependant on how well he bonds with E-cry. If E-cry thinks of Toomer as his go to reciever he could be in for a good year. Shockey should get plenty of looks as a check off reciever. Until he gets hurt again.
My concerns go beyond E-cry's unproven ability. What kind of an offense will we see from Coughlin? I can see him trying to dumb the game plan down and run a lot of between the tackles. Especially if he is looking to Dayne for anything. He may not recall how the great Dayne twinkle-toes up to the line of scrimmage. He would also try this type of offense to protect E-cry. I think all of the Giants could have sub-par numbers this season.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

I can't understand how you figure a team with a top defense will have to play catch-up all year. If they have a top defense, shouldn't they be in most of their games...and if they don't, then I can see them playing "catch-up" all year.
