Shannon Sharpe projections

Sharpe was nearly as productive as TGonz last yr, now i just drafted TGonz in the 3rd round in my latest league, whereas some guy drafted Sharpe in the 6th.

Do people think Sharpe will perform as he did last season?

It's all about TDs (and recs if you get pts for that). That's the major reason why Gonzo has been the 1st TE drafted since 2000.

Who knows what Shanahan will do with that offense considering there's no proven back. Lots of TE looks maybe?

Sharpe's history is streaky. I'd be much more content with Heap/Shockey, then another TE or two before Sharpe.

Our league rewards receptions (1 point). Hmmm it will be interesting to see how Sharpe performs without a proven RB, but this is Denver it wont take long for them to find a productive back.

I figure Sharpe has one more good season left, he trains harder than anybody else and is in exceptional shape for his age. He's at least the 3rd best TE this year.....and with the QB change in NY he might be 2nd best. Plummer really seemed to have developed a good rapport with Sharpe last year......I expect him to keep it up.

Sign me up for 800 yds, 6-8 TDs, and 60-70 receptions.

I'm not sure exactly how many yards/TD's he will have yet, but I'm going to say that he'll be the 4th best TE, behind Gonzo, Heap, and Shockey.

I don't see why people are still so high on Heap. He did practically nothing last year. Sharpe way out-performed him. I like Sharpe as AT LEAST the #3 TE for one more year. I haven't decided yet whether to take he or Shockey first in a re-draft league. Obviously, Gonz is #1. My main league is going to be a keeper/dynasty, but I still might grab Sharpe for one season in the 8th round if he's still there.

I wrote Sharpe off last yr, figured his injury and age would stop him performing...this yr i'd place him firmly in the top 3.

I gotta come in here and stick up for Heap. Last years numbers:

Gonzo - 71 catches 916 yards 10 tds 16 games
Sharpe - 62 catches 770 yards 8 tds 15 games
Heap - 57 catches 693 yards 3tds 16 games
Shockey - 48 catches 535 yards 2 tds 9 games

So Heap was right there minus the TD's. I still think Heap is right there at 3/4. Gonzo is by far the top guy here. But the other three all have question marks around them and all three can be justified going anywhere between 2-4 IMO.

Heres my rankings.
Gonzo
Sharpe
Heap
Winslow
Shockey

Imo Shockey is overrated. He hasnt gotten many touchdowns, and with a new quarterback that will continue. Winslow will have Garcia throwing to him, im gonna go out on a limb and say 700 yds and 6-8 TDs for Winslow, and 4 tds for Shockey. But none of them come close to Gonzo yet.
