Huge Shannon Sharpe news!

Apparently he may retire afterall. CBS are trying to lure Sharpe to replace Deion Sanders on the "NFL Today" show.

wow - that is big news. Obviously he still has to decide, so its still up in the air.

Personally, I think he'd be a great fit for CBS especially considering his competition for the job:

Sharpe appears to be at the top of a CBS wish list that includes Raiders safety Rod Woodson, former Broncos linebacker Seth Joyner, former Titans quarterback Neil O'Donnell and Sharpe's former Baltimore teammate Tony Siragusa.

Joyner? O'Donnell? I thought CBS was trying to attract viewers - not bore them.

Sharpe has always been entertaining, so a move like this was easy to predict once he finished his career.

I am still kind of in shock that he may move on already - I thought for sure he was gonna play for one more season.

Very shocking news and I don't think bringing back Byron Chamberlain will help much. Man, Plummer must be hating it right about now, losing Portis and now possibly Sharpe.

Sharpe is scheduled to make $760,000 in Denver. Sanders made $1 million at CBS last season, was offered $1.3 million to stay this season and sought $2 million before contract talks broke off Wednesday night. CBS had been preparing for that possibility. In January, it brought Sharpe to New York to provide in-studio analysis on the weekend of the AFC divisional playoffs.

what the hell is wrong with people!!...$1.3M is not to enough to BS on Sundays with Marino and Boomer about football??!!?..and CBS can offer sharpe more $$ to BS with them sames guys then the Broncos can offer Sharpe in his NFL contract!..I say retire, go to the HOF and take the $1M to sit down and relax on Sundays and BS about football ;-D

Which door would that be, the front or the back? :-b

Seriously now,Byron Chamberlain are they insane ! what a massive step down that will be.

Anyway, i'd rather watch Sharpe than Big Tony (Siragusa).
