I think Duece McAllister is overated

Postby The Guru » Sat May 15, 2004 2:37 am

He is being considered a top 5 back this year. Why?

He only had 8 td's last year. He is inconsstent in the sense that he doesn't get you a td each week. He didn't score a td in 11 games last year.

He almost never blows up and wins you a week.

The Saint's are not that good.

I really can't understand why people are so high on this guy. I have Lewis, Green, and Alexander ahead of him. I also think Ricky is going to have a better year then Duece.

To me he is no more then a solid #1 RB with little up-side. He is not a stud, and he does not have stud potential.

He is way overated.

He had 16 TDs the year before. The past is the past, projecting out to this year he is one of the few guys capable of having a 2200 total yard 15 TD season.

He's the #5-#6 RB.
I forget how many games it was, but he had 100 yds each game for a long time.

In my scoring system, he was a very consistant producer

10 yds rushing/receiving = 1 point
All TD's = 6 points

[b]Week #[b]
1) 13 points
2) 17 points
3) 3 points (left early? Only 11 carries)
4) 18 points
5) 18 points
6) 13 points
7) 23 points
8) 13 points
9) 12 points
10) BYE
11) 35 points
12) 35 points
13) 19 points
14) 8 points
15) 14 points
16) 11 points
17) 5 points

Pretty solid if you ask me

I agree in a redraft #5 or 6. In a dynasty I'd put him at #2 or 3. Dude's only 25.

I think he's top 5, but I wouldn't put him any higher than that...the whole Saints offense has always seemed like disaster to me.

The guy is really good, he's the #5 back on my sheet. He has no trouble getting the yards, and he was a TD machine the year before last, I think he can put them both together and be amazing this year.

Holmes
LT2
Green
Portis
Deuce
SA
Jamal
Ricky W.

I see them like this overall, but lets be honest. Someone out there can make a case for and against everyone of these guys why they will/wont do it. They all have the potential, but they also all have a reason why they could bomb this year.

Im having so much trouble even convincing my self of whos gonna out perform who, that im trading back to the eight spot in round one and plan on taking which one ends up in my lap.

In terms of a keeper league, i have him at #5. NO way is he any higher, but i think its kind of a jam in the middle there with him, jamal, and SA.

I may be a little biased, but I still see him as a top 5 RB for this season. He is #5 on my cheetsheet and I think it is well deserved. My projections for Deuce this season are at least 2000 total yards and 14 total TDs.
