need rookie draft advice

I can still get a reasonable TE in the regular draft (in round 17 of 20)

I am also more sold then most on Carr. He will be a star in the NFL. But yes... I will draft a QB. I like the TE, QB idea and Troupe would be the guy. I aslo like the RB, QB idea... never enopugh RB's are there?

Is it really that much of a crap shoot between Eli, Roth and Rivers? Sporting news has Eli at 26 and Roth at 41. In ranking just rooks it is Eli at 8, G. Jones at 11 and Roth at 21. (Troupe is at 17) Rivers is in between the 2 but I'm not that interested in him.

So I supposeit boils down to this...

Roth & Eli

Roth and Jones

Roth and Troupe

Eli and Jones

Eli and Troupe

Thanks for all the answers.... a few more would be appreciated.

Well if youre sure itll boil down like that, id have to go Jones and BRoth. I personally believe BRoth will have to best numbers out of the three qbs.

And I agree you can get a TE in the draft.

I know... thought about that originally. Might be nice to have the top 2 rook qb's. Then Jones was mentioned and I am more confused then before.

You're totally right that David Carr can (and will) be able to fill in for Favre when that time comes.

As is, it appears there's no other talent out there..might as well draft a QB.

You can't pass up on drafting the #1 kicker, Kaeding is a stud and a Hawkeye no less. You'd have a killer rb/k combo of Tomlinson and Kaeding.

Thats the route I would go.

Ok I think im the one confusing you so Im gonna explain my thoughts. BRoth is the number one you go for. its pretty muc ha dead heat between opinions on who will do better. I just think BRoth has the weapons around him in Pitt, and is gonna have to most time to get used to the speed of the NFL.

As far as my saying Jones, it was more of a "whats left" pick. Im not one for taking two qbs as aww suggested, but it will increase your chances with one of them panning out. I just agree with you that Carr will be fine when Favre goes and BRoth as your backup will be more than enough.

So I went with Jones (almost said Cobbs though). I just think with whats there youre gonna be taking a crap shoot on one panning out in the next couple years. But as long as you get BRoth, I will say you made out good.
