Rice to finish in San Fran?

49ers | Rice To Return? - from http://www.KFFL.com
Mon, 17 May 2004 10:43:02 -0700

The Sacramento Bee reports should Oakland Raiders WR Jerry Rice become a roster casualty, the San Francisco 49ers' management has talked privately of bringing him back so he could retire with the organization. If Rice was open to the idea, the 49ers would use him as a reserve receiver to school their young receivers, and not as an every-down player.

Personally, I'm hoping this happens. It would be only appropriate to see Rice go out in a 49er uniform, and he could really help out the young'uns the niners are going to be going with.

I like the idea, too. Although I think with the "competition" on that team, he would have to be more than a reserve WR...

I like that idea...he retires a niner, Prter gets into the plan, he can preach to the youngins, and makes their WRs better

I agree...It would be cool to see him in a 49er uni again.

I'd like this to happen, as it would lead to Porter getting more chances. And, of course, it'd be nice for him to retire in San Fran.

Whoa! Wait a minute, this move could actually be ingenious! The Niners are without Rattay, and they will probably be forced to start Dorsey, who has no NFL experience and probably doesn't deserve any.

Enter: Jerry Rice

Career QB stats:
3/10, 30%
71 yards, 7.1 YPA
1 TD
1 INT
50.4 rating

Do we actually expect Dorsey to do any better? Let's give Rice a chance in the pocket! He must've picked up something from playing Montana, Young, and Gannon.

Who's with me?! RICE FOR QB! :-D

But so are the Niners. After all, they did draft Dorsey. :-b

That is great news! Rice better retire as a 49er and go into the hall as a 49er, or I'm going to go bananas! They needed to do it for Montana also...

If I ever get these signatures figured out, I'll soon show my Rice appreciation! ;-D
