AntSports Serious Mock Drafts (SMD) AntSport's Serious Mock Drafts (SMDs) are the exact same as our normal mock drafts. To sign up your user page must have the serious mock draft flag set to true.
Serious Mock Drafting does not mean speedy or live drafts. The time limit for picks is 8 hours and people are allow to take that long if neccessary. Pre-drafting is not a requirement, just a suggestion. Some people do not like predrafting as they may not get the optimal player.
To quailfy :
Average Time on the Clock <= 30 minutes.
87% of picks made yourself.
Your draft is reasonable. New 2004 Rule!
To quailfy as a Serious Mock Drafter, you must have completed at least 1 regular draft with an average time on the clock of 30 minutes or less. Also, you must have made at least 87% of the picks yourself. That's 14 picks out of 16. Note, if you allow your team to TIMEOUT and become computer controlled, that draft will not have a good enought on clock time to qualify. If you use the franchise setup to put your team under computer control, you won't be pentalized in your attempt for SMD status. Picks selected by the computer don't count towards your 14, so you can only have the computer select 2 picks before that draft is disqualified. Starting 2004, your draft picks must be reasonable. You cannot just predraft an entire team of unknown players with the intent of only gaining SMD status.
Once you have SMD status, the only way to lose it is taking too much time on the clock from SMD draft. If you need to drop out of a SMD draft, you can put your team under computer control via the Franchise page with no penalty. So, if you can't draft on the weekends, pre-draft, and then turn on computer control on Friday evening. The computer will always use your pre-draft list before making a computer selection.
If you timeout and go on computer control in an SMD, you'll lose your SMD status and you won't be able to turn off computer control. You can still draft, but only by Pre-Drafting every pick.
Mock Draft Rules:
New Rule (6/16/2002) : If your team times out and goes on computer control, you can no longer turn computer control off. You can still draft your team by pre-drafting all your future selections. Too many teams were timing out multiply times. Note, if you Pre-Draft and then put your team on computer control yourself. The computer will try to use your pre-draft selections first. Also, if you put yourself on computer control, you can take yourself off of computer control.
You must be able to check the draft status at a minimum of once in the morning and once in the evening. Including on the weekends. If you don't have weekend internet access, you can Pre-Draft your picks to cover yourself until Monday.
The Draft timer will be set to 8 hours with a 3 hour "off" period at night.
These mock drafts are designed for fun and practice. They will not become leagues. Many experienced FFL owners use mock drafts to experiment. I encourage trying new strategies in drafting, so please don't suggest to make a league out of the mock draft. The Flex-20 Round draft is intended to simulate the drafting rules for WCOFF. The starting lineup says 1-2 RB 2-3 WRs. WCOFF is really 2 RBs 3 WRs and 1 Flex player. Just pretend that's what all the Flex-20 drafts are.
