If he scores half as much as last year, he would be an elite back, but there would be backs that are better. That is why this discussion is worth thinking about before drafts occur.

Well, don't draft him expecting to break the TD record again. It's just like not drafting Lewis thinking that he'll break 2000 again. He had an amazing year last year, but you have to expect a decline in TDs.

I'm a little weary of him and would take LT2 over him anyday, but then again I was shaky on him last year too.

He did lose his stud RT in Tait, which is something to consider.

Also his ypc decreased from 5.2 to 4.4 last year. Maybe age is catching up with him.

I'd still take him 1 or 2 though.

Given the numbers he has produced there has to be concern over weather he can keep up the pace. But even with a sizable let down he will still be amoungst the top scorers. I would pick him #1 without hesitation. The thing the puts him there is that LT is on a team in transition having lost their best WR and making changes at QB. And from what little I've seen of the Chiefs, they don't seem to shy away from giving Priest the ball in the red zone. You gotta love that.

Most people are concerned about him (including me), but how can you pass up the potential of 27 TD's, seriously. Thats like a free pass all the way to the finals.
