I read that the defence are trying to suppress a tape of Antonio Jackson (Lewis' crack buddy) is talking to a dealer about buying coke, and he drops Jamal's name a few times (just his 1st name) in regards to waiting until he talk to him.

No link, but my word is my bond.

So Lewis is in hot water because an acquaintance of his did some celebrity name dropping during a drug deal?

The thing that gets me is that the alleged offense happened so long ago. If it was a solid case they would have brought it LONG before now. It sounds to me like some prosecuting attorney is hoping to get mentioned on Sportscenter.
Our purpose on this planet is to laugh. For in Hell we shall not be able to and in Heaven it would not be proper.

Yea, the prosecutor doesn't introduce the case in the 1st place so he's obviously not looking for fame. Plus, this is a federal investigation, and its not that Jamal was name dropped, he was actaully a significant part of the deal (if allegations are correct).

I wouldn't worry about it. Haven't we all learned that sports stars don't go to prison?

Except Rae Carruth, and I think he just didn't wait long enough to get the celebrity status required to get away with crimes.

Don't forget, though, that J-Lewis IS on the cover of Madden 2005...which means that this could be the curse grabbing hold of him ;-)
