Best in Franchise History

Postby Poobah » Sat May 29, 2004 7:46 pm

Pro Football Weekly recently sifted through the annals of NFL history to develop a list of 5 candidates deemed "the best in the history of the franchise". Apparently you can vote on profootballweekly.com for the player you think is the best of the best. They will do one team a week between June 6 and Jan 15, starting with Arizona and finishing with Washington. The Titans candidates are:

DE Elvin Bethea
RB Earl Campbell
OL Bruce Matthews
QB Warren Moon
OG Mike Munchak

Campbell was a bruiser, too bad he can hardly walk now.

I'll vote Matthews...one hell of an extensive, productive career.

Earl "The Tyler Rose" Campbell. Respect to Moon because he played in the CFL.

Matthews had a long career, but gotta go with Earl. The most memorable Monday Night Football game I ever watched ended with him going about 80 up the sideline against Miami to win it. Go Earl. And it is too bad about his legs now ...

Earl Campbell has my vote.

Warren Moon went to U-Dubb and played for the Seahawks, though... Hard to pass him up...

I'll vote for Moon, though Campbell coming straight at you must have been a terrifying thought for any solo tackler.
