This year Portis is the best they have on O, thats why they went and got him. They'll focus on the run. But if Portis goes down, theyll be a passing team very quickly.

I wouldnt go that far - Brunnell isnt bad, and Coles is a monster (not to mention one of the better #2s in Gardner). Portis is a stud, but they have the artillary for a nice balanced attack.

Also - thanks for the article, I too was under the impression he was a running game style of coach.

Washington could be a real sleeper this yr.

Good article. Thanks for the post. I have to say that I have been thinking about picking up Brunell if he is available late rounds as a nice backup. Probably not my #2 but as a sleeper I think he will be overlooked.

Gibbs is typical old-school - you have to establish the running game to open up the passing game. That said, he also will go heavier with whatever his teams' strength is in any given year, be it passing or running as your article suggests.

I like this assessment. Portis is your best weapon, so if he starts to get it going the defense opens up. Then Brunell can do his thing. Portis comes back for the 4th quarter running out the clock and continues to go off because the defense is too worried about the success of the pass game.

Good find dread........attempts are higher for Gibss in the rushind catagory.......alot higher for him in the early years with the dead skins........and alot more passing when rippen and the boys were there compared to theisman.....if he gets out of his line what he wants I can see him running most of the time
