The Oakland Tribune reports the Raiders are making inquiries about retired RB Barry Sanders, according to several sources in recent weeks.

Well, I 'spose he is old enough. No way he comes out of retirement for them (or anyone else for that matter), though.

Even at his age, I'd take Barry on my team, hes the man. Even after this layoff he's probably 20x better than any RB on the Raiders.

Sad that he would STILL be the Raiders' best option if he came out of retirement now.

It's also been reported that the Raiders have made calls to Jim Brown and Eric Dickerson...

Eh, if it is, FFMastermind.com is behind. It's on the top if their news bits page (ProFootballTalk.com used Barry Sanders as their April Fools Joke though - joining the Ravens, methinks).

...I still feel stupid posting this kind of garbage. 'Tis the offseason, though - at least it's something, I 'spose.

Kenny Mayne had a hilarious story on Barry ... had Barry claiming his retirement was all a misunderstanding between him and his coach. Barry "claimed" that when the coach called him to talk about the upcoming season and Barry told him he was tired ... and the coach thought he said retired. And then Barry said he felt too self-conscious to correct him and just let it stand. Cracked me up ... had interviews with dang near everybody who could perpetuate the hoax.
