May 23, 12:38 PM EDT Ravens' Fuller Charged With Felony
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Baltimore Ravens defensive back Corey Fuller was charged with the use of a firearm in commission of a felony, the latest charge stemming from his arrest for allegedly running a gambling house.
Fuller was arrested last month and charged with hosting high-stakes card games at his house, the site of a shootout in January. The felony charge carries a possible five-year state prison sentence and $5,000 fine. Along with the firearm charge, Assistant State Attorney Matt Smith said Friday Fuller was also being charged with misdemeanor gambling.
"We expect the facts to show a different picture than what has been alleged," Fuller's attorney, Tim Jansen, said Sunday.
Fuller, a nine-year NFL veteran who started 10 games for the Ravens last season, spends his offseasons in Tallahassee where he starred in high school and at Florida State University. He has also played with the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns.
