George stays a Titan

Postby cooleyhigh » Fri Jun 04, 2004 4:09 pm

Len Pasquarelli reports that George will accept a paycut of around 2.7 million and remain the starting RB in Tenn. He also says George will eventually give up carries to Brown (Mid-Late Season)

And so Chris Brown drops back into the ranks of the irrelevant.

And the cheers from the owner who traded Chris Brown and a rookie pick (Greg Jones) for another rookie pick (Julius Jones). ;-)

Saw this coming a mile away. Really, who do you think was going to pay him what the Titan's were willing to, even at a reduced salary. Don't know the terms of the contract (anyone?) but I would assume around 2+ million. I always figured he'd come to terms and end his career in Tennessee. Classy guy, great team leader.

The article says it will be finalized around June 20 for around 1.5 million a year. Glad my draft has not started yet and thank goodness no George in Dallas.

1.5 is less than I would've thought. He probably could have gotten that on the open market (Dallas, Oakland?).
Glad to see him remain a Titan. ;-D
