Packers | Couch Agrees to One-year Deal - from http://www.KFFL.com Mon, 14 Jun 2004 15:39:20 -0700
FoxSportsNet's Jay Glazer reports the Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms with free agent QB Tim Couch (Browns) on a one-year, $1.25 million deal. The deal also includes incentives. While he hasn't officially signed the deal yet, he is expected to join the team in the next 48 to 72 hours.
Yeah, they finally got their man. Only a one year deal, though...are they just hoping Favre doesn't get injured and at least have a "suitable" backup, or are they planning to put Timmy on "probation" - whether he can learn the offense fast enough to take over the team next year?

I'm actually pretty pleased with this signing, when I saw the thread topic I thought it was that GB traded McKenzie for like a 6th round pick, but I am actually pleased with this move. I'm sure Couch will enjoy being in a winning atmosphere (finally) and resign after the season, becoming the heir apparent to Brett Favre (unless they can get a better rookie in the draft...).
BTW, Slow the new sig is soooo ill.

You just better hope Favre doesn't get injured this season. Unless the 3rd man on the depth chart can step up. IMO, Couch doesn't have the skills to "win" in the NFL.
