Who provides the best services for a Fantasy Football league

Postby DawgGone » Mon Jun 28, 2004 6:25 am

Hi, I'm looking for a new service for our league.
Our starting lineups consist of:
1 QB
1-2 RBs
2-3 WRs
1 TE
1 Kicker
1 Def/Sp

We want scoring to consist of or be close to:
Quarterbacks (QB), Running Backs (RB), Wide Receivers (WR), Tight Ends (TE)
6 pts per rushing or receiving TD
6 pts for player returning kick/punt for TD
6 pts for player returning or recovering a fumble for TD
4 pts per passing TD
2 pts per rushing or receiving 2 pt conversion
2 pts per passing 2 pt conversion
1 pt per 10 yards rushing or receiving
1 pt per 25 yards passing

Kickers (K)
5 pts per 50+ yard FG made
4 pts per 40-49 yard FG made
3 pts per FG made, 39 yards or less
2 pts per rushing, passing, or receiving 2 pt conversion
1 pt per Extra Point made

Defensive/Special Teams (D)
10 pts per shutout
7 pts for 2-6 points allowed
4 pts for 7-13 points allowed (note: team defense is responsible for all points allowed)
1 pt for 14-17 points allowed

3 pts per defensive or special teams TD
2 pts per interception
2 pts per fumble recovery (Note: includes a fumble by the opposing team out of the end zone)
2 pts per blocked punt, PAT, or FG (Note: a deflected kick of any kind does not receive points)
2 pts per safety
1 pt per sack

The playoffs consist of the last four regular season games.

I tried to check out the SportingNews link but was expected to signup for notification when the season starts and I don't want to commit to getting emails for every potential site.

Can anyone suggest a good site to have our league?

Thanks.

Fanball

If your willing to pay about $50 http://www.fanball.com has a very good service. I used them last year and I was very impressed. They even have a cool little feature which allows you to give awards to teams for anything. The award shows up as a little star on the teams homepage and if you hold your mouse over it a description of the award will pop up. Last year I gave weekly awards for the team who scored the most points that week and also awards for division champs, leage champ (which was me by the way ;-D ), and for a couple other things. I'm gonna carry the division and league champ awards over to next year so everyone will always remember I won!

Ohh, and everything else like live scoring, records, forums, ect. rock as well.

Fanball looks pretty good but if you don't mind... the $59 is the total amount for the entire league not individual teams right?

Have you or anybody you know ever had a problem with anything at Fanball?

They say it's software...it's not a website online?...it's something that has to be downloaded(or whatever).

Thanks much

Yahoo is good and free, while I have nothing bad of myfantasyleague.com, but that costs a little bit of cash.

It's $59 for the league and you can have as many teams as you want. (There may be a limit to teams, but if there is it's pretty high, more than you'll ever have)

So if your league has an entrance fee for teams just add a few bucks to it or take $59 from the pot.

I've never tried yahoo though, so you may want to check it out as well. :)

Ohh, and the one I use is the webpage version, I think there's a software version too, but I've never tried it.

When it gets closer to football season they will probably have a 1 or 2 week free trial for it so you can check it out before you buy it. If you do that just make sure to set your league up there and in yahoo (or some other free one) so you don't have problems later if you choose not to buy it.
