Cornbread Maxwell wrote:I here ya Poobah - I watched ESPN's top 25 sports movies last night. The list they have on ESPN right now of the top 20 are much different than the list on the show they aired. From the show:
Is Jerry McGuire a sports movie?
They had Rudy at 23rd I believe - a little low for me.
Rocky didnt even make the top 25?
Bull Durham was more of a chick flick than a sports movie - so I hated that in the top 5.
Hoosiers as the #1 sounds alright to me.
From the website's top 20:
Durham #1? Rocky #2 - thats fine, but no mention of it in the shows version? I also like how Slap Shot made the top 10 on the website, but no mention of it in the show.
Seems to be a lot of discrepancy.
As for Searching for Bobby Fischer - no, chess isnt a sport IMO.
Rocky has been more than 25 years. And I'm okay with the chess movie not being considered sports. But if it is, jack it up into the Top 10, because it is a HELLUVA movie
Just so I didn't have to type it again, aww. Movies since 1979, only....
They picked some top movies on that list. I actually just bought Hoosiers, so Ill be watching it I agree the chess movie isnt quite a sports movie though. I LOVE Rudy, probably that and Remember the Titans are my favorite sports movies. That low was surprising to me

I showed my thought on this to KingGhidra which i beat him at the conversation If you say that you eat while playing the game, then what do you call baseball players eating sunflower seeds while in the outfield? Are you calling baseball not a sport?

DO they actually eat them, or do they spit them back out? Then that is just chewing on them, or sucking them dry. IF they dont swallow em, thats not eating.
And baseball is BARELY a sport, considering they play 162 games in like 175 games.
