sales force contest

Postby ch » Mon Jul 12, 2004 3:00 pm

I want to create a fantasy football league/contest for my sales force and their top accounts - we're talking about 1200 entrants.

How can I do this?

Where do I turn?

It would have to be like the ESPN Fantasy Football draft where there are no player exclusives. Basically, everyone gets a salarycap at the beginning of the year and has to pay for players at the beginning. As they perform well their values adjust. You can then sell those guys off and make your team worth more. I did that a couple of years ago and I believe you start out with 40 mil for a team. Guys like Warner and Faulk (in their prime then) were like 15 mil each, so obviously you can not have both unless the rest of your team completely stunk. Hope that helps with a basic format and gives light to the stradegy. It is the ultimate buy low, sell high kind of game.

The Sporting News runs a salary cap league also. The pluses are 1. It's free, 2. You can create your own league and invite whoever you want to join it. I've played it the last few years and it's fun! They try to get you to buy additional trades trades (you initially get 10), but I don't cuz it's not that important to me. There are also cash prizes for the top players. I would have won money in their hockey league this year but they informed me that Minnesota won't allow the cash payouts. The Football site is already up so you can check it out. If anyone is interested in baseball, the "second season" starts the 15th I think, kind of fun to play around with.................
