What if Tomlinson was on a team with a O-line like Denver, KC, or Baltimore. Or if he were on a team with studs like Seattle, Indy, or Minnesota? What numbers would he put up?

Makes me sick to think about. Not many rushing records would be left -- of course, he wouldn't be saturated with the ball, but still. The Vikings should pick him up! ;-D

Kind of like wondering what Barry Sanders would have done on a perennial winner.

It would depend on the specific team. Being on a better team in general he'd probably get more carries but his yards would remain the same. Most likely he'd get a lot less receptions unless he was on a team that ran the entire offense through the RB as options #1 and #1A.

I dunno, man. If I'm a coach and I have Tomlinson and a really awesome line, I would pass only once every 8-10 plays. I think Tomlinson could average over 5.5 yards per carry for an entire season. It would just be completely awesome.

I doubt his numbers would improve all that much. He gets alot of his points on those little dumpoffs late in the game when everyone and their mom know the Chargers have to pass because they're down by 80 points.

He signed a six-year deal as a rookie. This is year four. Here's his salary schedule.

2001 $500,000.00
2002 $1,250,000.00
2003 $1,500,000.00
2004 $5,500,000.00
2005 $2,000,000.00

No idea why nflpa.org doesn't have year 6 on here. Strange that he's scheduled to make a lot less in 2005. Must be incentive based. Might be a shady reason for SD to limit his production in 2005 to save money.

Tomlinson is from another planet. It's true.

Money in the bank.
