"In an interview with the Rocky Mountain News, Denver tight end Shannon Sharpe talked openly about offseason retirement in order to pursue a career in broadcasting. Sharpe’s sentiments were strong enough to lead the interviewer to conclude “...Sharpe sounds as if he is ready to retire from football and move on to a career in broadcasting.” Sharpe received positive reviews for his playoff work for CBS and ESPN"

It's to bad, Sharpe really kept things fun. I remember a few years back him getting on the phone during a routing of the Patriots and telling the guy on the other end of the line to "call the National Guard, the Patriots are getting destroyed". LOL, now that is good clean fun!
