Which QB

Postby Borg Assimilators » Tue Jul 20, 2004 7:15 am

I have the opportunity to get either David Carr or Mark Brunnell to back up Peyton Manning in my fantasy league. I'd like some opinions on which should have a better year.

Those two are pretty close in my estimation...Portis will garner some serious respect for defenses, and Coles has another receiver (Gardner) who may be able to really break out this year. Carr has D. Davis who could be a real force, but Andre Johnson is just about the only pertinent receiving threat.

I guess I'd say Brunell has the personnel around him to do better; the question is whether he can still get it done as an aging QB.

Brunnell will likely have a better season I think, but Carr won't be far off him unless the Texans suffer a rash of injuries again. I'd go with Brunnell if its a redraft league though, but Carr if its a keeper/dynasty because of his youth advantage.

I'm one who think Carr will have a very good season this year. He's shown signs already of being a top QB in the future and I think he'll add to that evidence this year. Brunell always gets hurt too. I'd go with Carr.

I'd take Brunell anyday.
