KFFL.com wrote:TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not have to worry about wide receiver Bill Schroeder beating them anymore.

The Buccaneers on Tuesday signed the 10-year veteran, who had some of his best games against the Buccaneers as a member of the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay's former rivals in the NFC Central Division.

Terms were not disclosed.

In a 26-23 victory over Tampa Bay at Lambeau Field on October 10, 1999, Schroeder caught seven passes for a career-high 158 yards. In a loss to the Buccaneers last season, he had four receptions for 96 yards.

Tampa Bay joined the NFC South in 2002 while the Packers and Lions switched to the NFC North.

Schroeder, 33, was a 1994 sixth-round pick of Green Bay and made his NFL debut for the Packers in 1997. He spent the next five seasons in Green Bay before playing with Detroit for the past two years.

Schroeder has 297 recptions for 4,427 yards and 27 touchdowns in 74 games, including 50 starts.

The Bucs are just gettin more leverage for the contract dispute.

Keenan is goin to ahve to fold now, or the bucs just say.... bad luck we dont need you. Enjoy the bench, your not gettin any younger.

Keenan will accept whatever offer they give him come the start of the season.

That actually probably wouldn't be a bad idea considering the RBs they have on that roster...

K-mac is done. Good for the Bucs. Screw these whiners. Go play for the chargers and get paid with peanuts.

Andy Reid handles this better than anyone. Show up and be rewarded. Hold out and face the consequences.

The good of the many outweighs the good of the few or one...

I agree with the "screw the whiners" philosophy but I don't see Shroeder as being a threat to anyone. A good third and 6 recv across the middle but definitely not a deep threat.

With Joey G they are definitely not lacking a deep threat.

BTW, whatever happened to Charles Lee? At the end of last season he was being touted as the next breakout player and now he's an afterthought. Was his potential just a non-existant glimmer of hope? Didn't this happen with him in Green Bay too?

His week 15 and 16 performances carried me to a title as a 3rd receiver.
