Where to take Moss?

Postby Xtreme » Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:56 am

Greetings,
I'm keeping Holmes from last year, and I have the last pick of the first round. At what point do I consider taking Moss rather than a second RB? Based on my RB rankings below, let's assume that top 8 RBs are off the board, would you take Moss? Where would you fit him in?

1) Holmes
2) Tomlinson
3) Green
4) McAllister
5) Portis
6) Lewis
7) Alexander
8) James
9) Williams
10) Taylor
11) S Davis
12) D Davis
13) Johnson
14) Dillon
15) Barlow
16) Henry

A lot of rankings I've seen have him between 9 and 10. I think I'd probably take him there, what do you think?

Anywhere from 8-10.

The top seven RBs (unless JLewis is in prison) clearly rank ahead of him. You could argue Edge and Ricky are either more or less valuable than Moss.....it's a toss up. He's more valuable than anyone listed #10 down.

Personally, I'd probably take a risk and draft him at #8.....

I would definitely take him before Fragile Fred "I'm afraid of the end-zone" Taylor.

Moss' value is definitely in this area. He has the ability to outscore Edge and Ricky. I'd probably take Ricky ahead of him, but after that, it's time to go with the best available player - that's Randy Moss. He should go in the late first round in every draft that involves 10 - 12 teams.

How many in your elague ?

Do you think moss will make it to the end of rnd 1 when you have one keeper ? if he does take him, I presume you then have the first pick of the 2nd round, so you can take another RB then. Depending on how many in your league, I dont think Moss will be there at the end of the first, which is really the end of the 2nd round without the keepers.

All assuming ive understood you correctly.

I'm in a similar situation (keeping Priest and picking 10th out of 10) and there's almost no way I'll get Moss at the end of the first round.

I highly doubt he'll be there for you, unless everyone in your league goes with strict RB-RB picks.

I would take him at number 8, unless one of the top 6 RB's falls.
