Hi, and a question..

With Eddie George in Dallas, will this be 50/50? Or will Eddie George primarily have the job?

I'm wondering... Thanks to all opinions.

I think that whoever has the better training camp will get the job. Right now Eddie, being the vet, has a slight edge. But that could all change before the season starts.

I'm betting Eddie ends up being the starter with JJ being the 3rd down back. My question is, why did Eddie sign with a new team for the same amount of money he rejected in Tennessee?

Same reason Collins took less money: Pride. :-)

i think that it will be the opposite...parcells was ready to give JJ the job and i think george will be there to be the 3rd down back.....especially in passing situations because i'm sure george is the better blocker as he has been doing it much longer.

But both backs will get looks.....like Atlanta.

Usually the shiftier, more versatile back types, get the 3rd down looks.

The only thing that's the same is the base salary. In Tennessee it was $1.5 mil is $1.5 mil is $1.5 mil, and that's final. In Dallas, it's at least $1.5 mil, with incentives leading to as much as $4.25 mil.

Parcells loves veteran players. With Eddie you know what you are going to get... solid running between the tackles and veteran leadership. He'll be a good example in the clubhouse for the young backs and should be the number one for this year at least.

That said, he's lost a step and never had a burst to start with. JJ's the future and will get the rock a lot this year. I'd be peeved if I had drafted JJ thinking he'd be the main RB in Dallas this year.

Parcells is looking to the future. He'd love to get back to the playoffs this year, but I really think he's looking 1-2 years down the road. This year, I expect JJ and Eddie to split about 50/50, but if Dallas finds itself losing and/or out of the playoff race, I'd expect JJ to get a larger percentage of the carries, and also wouldn't be surprised to see Drew Henson starting at QB later in the year.

Early news that I've heard is that Jones will be the starter but Eddie is definitely going to get touches. Sounds like the plan is to really have Eddie groom the kid.
