the craziest draft ever

Postby tmandpimp » Sun Jul 25, 2004 3:58 pm

ok i need some serious draft help here.... my boys and i are gonna have a draft i can already see some of these people going in the first two rounds alone. keep in mind this is a pretty standard league with nothing out of the ordinary except a few bonuses for certain achievements. HOWEVER even that being said none of these people are gonna care about that. they will just draft these people early so my question is
A- should this affect me
B- if they start snagging stupid stuff early such as DEF or KICKERS or TIGHT ENDS should i hop on early as well and grab things

just to give you an example
vick-1st round
TONY G- 2nd round, maybe third
shockey, heap- 2nd or 3rd round
mcnabb, manning, culpepper, first 3 rounds

this being said what should i do for my draft strategy, stay cool, go with the flow..what?

I'd probably just stay the course. They may be jumping all around making picks, but if you stay consistant sticking to your guns the whole time, you'll do great. Remember it's about value based drafting.

Don't get caught up in runs. You stick with whatever draft strategy you're prepared for.

And wrong forum.

i was thinking the same idea. If you stay true to your strategy. And don't get caught up in the runs. Alot of the time if you see Gonzo and Heap go real earlier, people will start to panick and take the boo williams and the crumplers in the 5th rounds.

Let them. This is one instance where i would definitly make a top 50+ overall list and stick to those picks in order (within reason) until they are gone, and then fill in by position.

other than that just keep you cool and you should be fine.

stay cool, do what you'd normally do in a draft. Your players will have higher draft value if the other teams messed up in their picks and drafted TEs, QBs too early you may get a really good deal because the other team is pressed

It never hurts to have a surplus of stud RB's and WR's because you can easily trade them to fill any voids in your roster.
