is 6 points too much for a passing TD in a traditional performance based scoring system?

yes, it brings back the Warner/Peyton curve

scoring system

I have a gripe about my league's scoring sytem. Passing Td's are currently at six, and while the interceptions are at -2, I think this overvalues QB's. Our yardage is also 20 per point for rush/receive/return and 50 per QB passing point. Everything else is standard, but do you think this kind of league makes the passing TD's a bit too much? Or does it balance out the traditional running back dominance?

It does bring QB's closer to the RB situation. BUt i don't think it is too much. I actually would prefer a 6 pt for passing TD. but i would also argue that ints should go up to -3.

We do QB 1/25 yrds, 6 TD, -2 INT. It does make the QB's more valuable, but RB still the bread and butter.

Why would you argue -3 for INT? Would you also put a fumble at -3? Just wondering. We use -2 for any TO.

our league for Qb is: 6 for passing td, -2 int, 1 pt for every 50 yds, fumbles lost -2 or -1 i can't remember and of course 1 pt for every completion

We use 6 pts/TD, 1 pt per 25 yards, -2 INT

RBs are always king because there are not enough of them. No matter how high QB scores there are a lot of them to go around.

A mediocre QB will throw for more TD's than the NFL record for TD's in a season by a RB.

We tried this in my league one year, but made INT's -4. This way, TD/INT ration was more important. It still had the same spread (2) between the two, but having a better ratio seperated the QB's some.

That made it more bearable, but we still have used 4 pts for passing TD's every year since.
