Boondock Saints Review

Postby fntsyrookie » Mon Feb 10, 2003 8:48 am

I have to admit that I was pretty physced to watch this movie, and my hopes were really high. Usually when this happens I'm dissapointed in the movie because it wasn't as good as I thought. But not so with the Saints. I really, really liked it!! In fact I'm now the proud owner of the Boondock Saints on DVD. It was 10 bucks, so I figured why not? I do have to admit, that I'm going to have to watch it again, because I feel like there was a lot of little things that I missed. The story is pretty good, and I just like the way the movie was filmed...the way the story is told. Again if you like Pulp Fiction and/or Resevoir Dogs you'll probably like Boondock Saints as well. I personally liked it better than Resevoir Dogs. All in all it gets a ;-D from me.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like it may be down my alley. I'll go check it out. Better than Reservoir Dogs???? I can't think about that movie without remembering the Michael Madson torture scene where he cuts the dude's ear off and pours gasoline on it, while dancing around to: "clowns to the left of me Joker to the right here I am, stuck in the middle with you" (Stuck in the Middle/Steelers Wheels)

I also watched the movie this weekend and I couldnt agree more with rooks summary.

I particularly liked the part W. Dafoe played. I dont buy movies, at least I dont buy many movies, I have a couple of them that I own on VHS and dvd. The Saints is one I would buy.

Its a guys movie, great to watch alone or with beers and friends over.

I saw it orginally about a year or two ago when it hit the video stores for the first time and I really like the movie too. A lot of action and never really a dull moment. The story was also good it is a great guy type of movie.

But I was disapointed that the movie had nothing to do with football in New Orleans.
