Marvin Lewis signs !

Postby FeArMeNtL » Fri Aug 06, 2004 3:53 pm

Didn't see this up here so here it is
Coach Marvin Lewis, who led the Bengals to an 8-8 record last year, signed a new contract shortly after the end of last season, team spokesman Jack Brennan said Monday.

"We were so pleased with how it had gone on and thought he had done an extraordinarily effective job and we wanted to show him that we appreciated what he had done and offered to extend the contract,'' Bengals president Mike Brown said.

Lewis received a new four-year contract that will pay him more than $2 million a season, replacing the four-year deal he signed when he was hired in January 2003.

He is going to be our future coach like Steelers head coach ;-D

Marvin is the man and deserves every penny.

He was the reason those big time FA's even looked at the bengals, after this year, we should be able to actually sign some of them. Things are looking bright....too bad our schedule is absolutely ridiculous

Finally a "Proactive" move by Mike Brown, rather than being "reactive."

I find it strange that this was done right after the 03 season was over, yet they waited until now to announce it to the press :-? . Oh well, great job in securing Marvin. He has been a savior to us long suffering Bengals fans ;-D
