ricky williams question (answered)

Postby bungle613 » Sat Aug 07, 2004 11:51 am

2 part question

Our favourite FF player Ricky Williams also played some pro baseball. Name the team he played for (relatively easy to find out) and for how many games was his name on the roster?

Phrased it that way because I am not sure if he started all the games or any but there is a specific number of games he was on the team.

I'm 98% sure he didn't play any pro ball. He played 4 seasons in the Phillies minor league system, then was rule 5 drafted to Expos in Dec. 1998, then 1 day later, the rangers purchased his contract for $100,000. He never started training camp that winter becuase he wanted to focus on his rookie NFL season.
If he was listed on the roster for any, it was probably the Phillies seeing how he wasnt on the expos for more then 2 day int he winter and never started training camp with rangers.

I thought that might have been an issue when i posted it. Minors is still pro ball really. It's just not the big leagues.

So, to clarify.... Ricky Williams was on a minor league team... which team and for how many games did his name appear on the roster?

Here's some more that I found:
-"He was really bad. He couldn't hit anything," Dudek says. "But to watch him on the base paths was remarkable."
