Browns Lock Up Cornerback Daylon McCutcheon
BEREA, Ohio (Sports Network) - The Cleveland
Browns (news) and cornerback Daylon McCutcheon
(news) agreed on a five-year contract extension
Wednesday, keeping the USC product with the club
through the 2009 season.
McCutcheon is one of only two players remaining
from the 1999 expansion Browns (kicker Phil
Dawson (news) is the other). He has played in 75
games, starting 70, while recording 320 tackles,
eight interceptions, 35 pass breakups and six
forced fumbles.
"I'm really happy," McCutcheon said. "I wanted to
finish my career with the Browns. I love the city
of Cleveland, I love the fans, and this is where
I want to be."
McCutcheon has spent his entire professional
career in Cleveland since being selected by the
organization in the third round of the 1999
draft.
The Browns are coming off a disappointing 5-11
season.
