yep...say goodbye to emmitt....i'd think that Carolina would probably lead the pack...esp if Foster isn't ready, or is slow to return...but thats my opinion...
Yeah, he will be goin....damn shame to slap him in the face after all he has done for the organization....he wants to start and he wants to win....would be a great fit in Tampa

Lets never forget these two.....Ill tell ya how they felt...PISSED!...but this is a BIZ and tuffer decisions have to be made every year....are they the moraly right ones?...NO....but more times then not they are the right ones for the team...side note I felt with Rice before the cut him it was going to be a huge mistake...and it was...I don't care what Owens wanted, Rice has the rings and the records to prove that he "that damn good" and should never have been put against Owens, these two should have worked together, Owens was and is still learning and could have learned alot more form "the greatest player to ever play the game" (I'll stand by that one to the end)...Montana on the other hand....I hate to say after winning 4 SB, He had to go, It was Youngs time and Young took them to the dance and won...Emmitt took "the boys" there too, but that was def a different time and a different team...Emmitts time has come with this team and if he wants to play he has to move on...he need to tip his hat, say goodbye, and leave gracefully...btw I hate the Cowboys...but I will never take anything away from Emmitt...and nobody ever should.

yep slow, i too have heard this carolina rumor. they are going to be big players in hoping to landing emmitt, just in case foster isn't ready to go.
I don't think this is a matter of JJ not respecting Emmitt and all he has done for the organization. It boils down to a tough business decision. This, unfortunately, is the way it is in todays NFL. Believe me, I'm not a JJ homer and Emmitt is my favorite player of all time. I hate the thought of Emmitt in a different uniform, but this ain't the good old days any more. If you are old enough, i know you can remember when the team you rooted for had basicly the same bunch of guys for a 10 year stretch. TV money, salary caps, and ridiculous contracts have brought us to the point where ends of great players careers will more and more be spent with different teams.......Sad, but true! [/img]
Why do you think it is time for him to retire???? If I remember correctly, it was time for Jerry to retire when he left San Fran. I could not disagree with you more. Emmitt may not be the RB he used to, but he sure the hell is better then what the Cowboys have now. And given a decent O-line to run behind and perhaps a TE that could block maybe one time a game, he could still be productive.
agreed with dem cowboys on this one.......Emmitt definately has football left in him.....the NFL's all time leading rusher still has in him what it takes to move the chains
Been watching Emmitt since his Escambia high school days. #1 class act. I think he could still get the job done but I don't think I would pay him what he is supposed to get this season when they could get someone like S. Davis.
