The Atlanta Falcons announced Wednesday that they will not put the franchise tag on Keith Brooking. The Pro Bowl linebacker will become an unrestricted free agent next week unless the two sides can work out a contract between now and then. Brooking is a lifelong resident of Atlanta. "I want to be here, so I'll take less," he told the Atlanta Journal Constitution Sunday. However, on Monday Brooking said he was prepared to play elsewhere.

This is insane ! even messing with the idea of letting him go its nuts.

Im betting my house that they sign him again within days.

I just read this articule today and from what I got from it is Brooking has no intentions of leaveing he & the Falcons just want to make the team better not hinder it by slapping on the tag and eating up valuable cap space that can be used to sign other FAs

i read he agreed to resign with the falcons, so i guess their risk payed off
