Good news for the Bears.

Postby KingGhidra » Sun Aug 15, 2004 5:41 pm

Aug 14 The Bears received good news Friday when a specialist determined that offensive tackle John Tait's groin injury is not more serious than originally anticipated by team doctors. Tait, who signed a $33.65 million contract with the Bears during the offseason, could return to the practice field next week. The specialist told the former Chief that the injury is something that needs to be monitored, but he does not consider it to be a major injury.

Unfortunately, they are gonna keep him at RT instead of moving him to LT like they had hoped.

Just another reason to rank Thomas Jones high on your list as a possible top 10 RB this year

Most people think T. Jones is a crappy back but he never really got an opportunity with a decent team. Arizona he got a shot his 3rd year to start and didn't do so hot. But Shipp didn't set the world on fire when he took over either.

Then last year he did well when he was given playing time with the Bucs but was never really the starter there. This year he has a pretty good offensive line in front of him with 3 pro-bowlers and should have a decent fantasy impact I think.

I am not a Jones fan. I am a A-Train fan, i think Thomas will take the starting job and do a solid job with it

Well, A-Train is injured right now... Thomas Jones had a HUGE Offensive line in AZ and still couldn't do anything with the job except a few flashes of greatness vs teams in the last couple weeks of the season.
I refuse to drink Thomas Jones' kool-aid.

12 team, H2H, hyper-performance, keeper (5)

Start 9: QB, 1/2RB, 2/3/4WR, 1/2TE, K, D/ST

Keepers: Deuce, Rudi, CJ, Plax, Foster

Top 10, not a chance. He's done nothing to prove he'd ever put up those numbers. Top 20, well there you can he has a shot. Even still, until he actually produces, he's a huge gamble.

This is absolutely correct. Just because Zona's oline was huge doesn't mean they were good. I thought they were pretty good but they actually were definately below average. Marcel shipp is a pretty good player but i'm afraid his first year totals represent a lack of scouting and info on the dude than anything else. Remember taht jones has been injured throughtout his career, but has some serious talent. HE was supposed to go before jamal lewis in the draft in 2000 if you can remember back that far. 2 years ago jones had 170 yards against the seahawks, a game inwhich he sprained his ankle and season was pretty much shot. If he can stay healthy, he should blow up in lovie smiths offense and become a top 10 back. I'd draft him in the 3rd. He disapointed me 2 years ago but this should be his year or ill personally find this guy and punch him in the face.
