I wish that were the case, as it would be funny. Unfortunately this is probably for the bookies and bookmakers in Vegas. Tagliabue must be determined to destroy the integrity of the league before he's ousted.
That's absolutely ridiculous. Granted it IS the main reason for the rule, but legalized, sanctioned sports gaming accounts for so little of the total amount of money bet on sports it's laughable. Demonizing legal sports betting as a threat to the "integrity" of the league is like blaming aspirin manufacturers for America's drug problem. Also, football betting has been around since long before Paul Tagliabue was even born, and the reason for the change is to prevent people from cashing in on insider information that's not made public, so it actually theoretically adds to the equity and fairness of sports gaming.
