Aside from the standard construct of the salary cap are there any other exemptions for teams?

What if a guy goes on IR...can they write off part of his cap figure?

There are teams that have no business being under the cap (STL Warner, Faulk, Aeneas etc) and somehow they always make space at the end of the year...I can't imagine that it's simple restructuring.

Are there any other loopholes that haven't been mentioned so far?

The NFL cap is exactly WHY there are "capologists",
bull$h%$ing their way into $150K paychecks from every team in the league.
But, of course, I could be wrong.

Hate to admit it, but there really are 'capologist', and they are paid very well - they certainly do more work for the money than Chelsea Clinton will have to do for hers!!
