In addition to the volitility of the top-ten kickers from year to year, the author is missing another angle. It is not HOW MANY points a kicker scores, but the difference from the top kicker to the, say... number 12 kicker is very small. So yes the top kicker may score as many points as 2 positional players, so does the #2 kicker, and the #3 kicker, and the #4 kicker... etc, etc... no need to jump on them early.

Honestly, that article was one of the worst Ive read in some time.
Draft K early because they score a lot of points? That has to be one of the most unintelligent thesis in a fantasy article Ive seen this season. Unbelievable. Where do they find these guys?

i didnt eve draft a kicker, last 2 years i didnt, last year eneded up w Wilkins as a free agent, now hes #2 overall,. year before same thing was Jay Feeley


this year my man is JOE NEDNEY - high octane offense - lookng real good in camp & sitting on my fa wire, while i got an extra skill positon guy on everyone else. (its also a deep league)

i usually draft a kicker last, and then look to the WW because there will always be a couple sleepers out there

Where are all of the guys I see taking kickers early, no responses to this thread?

I think the guy who wrote this made a fool of himself, made my opinion of taking kickers late stronger in my mind.

By the way did anyone else notice the strange excalmation points littered throughtout the article?

It's too risky to take kickers until the last couple rounds, I was able to grab Wilkins off the FA list last year and he was just awesome, he got me like 13-14 points a week in my league which was outstanding.
